Board authorizes $194,480 library HVAC controls upgrade with ControlNet

Waterford Township on March 9 approved a project to replace outdated HVAC controllers at the township library and integrate the building into the township-wide HVAC control system.
DPW Director Justin Westlake explained the library uses four rooftop air handlers, 32 VAV boxes and two boilers controlled by legacy controllers and software. The Board approved single-source vendor ControlNet to supply and install replacement controllers and update the control interface for a base price of $176,800 plus a 10% contingency of $17,680, for a total not to exceed $194,480 to be charged to account #27790-97106. ControlNet is the township’s single-source vendor for the control system and is already used at other facilities.
What’s next: DPW will schedule installation and integrate the library into the centralized control system, enabling remote adjustments and reduced manual facility visits.
