The City Council on May 19 approved a design-services change order of $68,899.85 for the Glenridge Connector traffic signal upgrade project (T7256) to fund additional drainage design, subsurface investigation for signal pole foundations, replacement mast-arm work and signal-timing database updates at four intersections.
Public Works Director Marty Martin said the additional scope was not anticipated in the original task order and is intended to accommodate a second left-turn lane from Glenridge Connector onto Meridian Mark Road and to reduce the risk of delays in the field due to unanticipated utilities or obstructions. The four intersections included in the change order are Glenridge Connector at SR 400 (north and south), Meridian Mark Road and Peachtree Dunwoody Road; Johnson Ferry intersection will be addressed in a separate project.
Councilmember Mary Ford asked about funding for the construction phase; staff said anticipated construction funding will come from recurring capital programs (T7000 series). The change order passed on a voice vote.
