Cottonwood County accepts $42,750 low bid for courthouse roof; asks for bond and insurance info

The Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners on May 3 accepted Sanow & Company LLC's low bid of $42,750 to replace the courthouse roof, contingent on receipt of required bond and insurance documents.
Commissioner Tom Appel reviewed three bids: Sanow & Company LLC at $42,750 for shingled and flat roof work; Langland/Herding Construction at $52,600 (shingled roof only); and Bargen at $85,821.43 (shingled roof only). Commissioner Norm Holmen moved to accept the low bid from Sanow & Company LLC, Commissioner Donna Gravley seconded, and the board voted unanimously to award the contract contingent on bond and insurance information.
Appel also reported plans related to other county facilities. He said he would contact an architect the following week and request a proposal for the N71 structures associated with the DVHHS building project. Chairman Larry Anderson raised the possibility of placing a Law Enforcement Center (LEC) addition on a bonding bill and asked that Representative Schomacker be invited to a future meeting to discuss the request.
Next steps: the county will obtain the contractor's bond and insurance details before finalizing the roof award; the coordinator and Appel will pursue architect proposals for DVHHS work and schedule legislative outreach regarding LEC bonding.
