School board honors longtime staffer, celebrates Davidson High 'High Q' champions and awards scholarships

Among them, Caroline Carter (Davidson High School) was noted to have a weighted GPA of 4.59 and an ACT score of 32; Lily Marie Smith (Davidson/Bryant) read in part an essay describing growing up in foster care and cited teaching as a career goal; and Maddie Brown (Baker High School) was described as a high‑ranking student (weighted GPA 4.45, 44th of 565) active in honors societies and volunteer work.
Staff member (speaker 5) closed the recognition portion by congratulating the students and asking them to return to class so the board could proceed with business.
The board moved on to action items after the recognitions.
