County hears broadband, economic development and forestry updates; Bead Bob grant totals $34 million

Tony Pharo, Executive Director of the Oneida County Economic Development Corporation, provided a brief overview of the Bead Bob grant and reported that Oneida County is receiving $34 million including grant funds and the required match. Forestry Director Jill Nemec presented the Forestry 2025 Annual Report (packet provided), noting that timber stumpage revenue came in under budget for 2025, described several culvert projects, said the 2025 snowmobile season lasted only 24 days, reported removal of a retaining wall at Buck Lake with Highway Department assistance, and stated that the county’s 2024 audit was completely clean.
The board received the reports; no formal action was taken on these items during the meeting.
