Oradell board urges relief for rising employee health-care costs, approves consent and personnel items

At its regular meeting, the Oradell Board of Education introduced and approved a resolution urging relief from rising public school employee health-care costs and then moved through several routine administrative, finance and personnel items.

Board member Darien introduced A1 as “a resolution urging relief from rising public school employee health care costs,” and the item was seconded and called to a roll-call vote. The clerk recorded unanimous approval from the members present.

The board also approved the minutes from April 22, a curriculum field trip (C1) — a celebration lunch at Applebee’s in Hackensack for one winning student’s class — and finance items introduced as D1 through D9. Personnel items F1 through F6, covering hires and personnel updates in the packet, were likewise presented and approved.

On the extraordinary-aid application, a board member reported the district is working on the filing and will not know final funding until July when state allocations are finalized.

The meeting concluded committee reports (no buildings-and-grounds report) and brief public remarks before a motion to adjourn carried.
