The Pacific Grove Unified School District board voted May 21 to approve a tentative agreement negotiated with the Pacific Grove Teachers Association for the 2026–27 school year.
Chief Human Resources Officer Buck Rogemann summarized the agreement at a public hearing required for collective bargaining settlements, reviewed sections that were opened and the redline changes available in the board packet, and praised the collaborative negotiation process. A PGTA representative spoke in support, thanking the district and bargaining teams for their work.
Trustees thanked both teams; Trustee Hazen called the negotiations "professional and amicable," and the board moved to adopt the tentative agreement by roll call vote.
The agreement will be brought forward for any necessary final actions and implementation steps required by district and statutory processes. Staff were directed to carry out the terms in accordance with the agreement and applicable board policy.
