Colonial School District honors Unified Bocce and boys basketball teams

The Colonial School District Board opened its May 2026 meeting by recognizing student achievements across the district, including a Unified Bocce team that won its league and returned to regionals and the boys basketball team for a championship season.

Coach Dana Moyer, who identified herself as an English teacher and coach, thanked aide Amy Smith and introduced student participants and senior partners, noting the team’s recent league and regional accomplishments and the launch of a bocce-besties program to increase participation.

The boys basketball coach (speaker 8) praised a deep senior class and managers, named multiple players and described postseason success and college commitments, including players headed to Towson University, Wharton (University of Pennsylvania), Salem Junior College and others. Coaches and student leaders encouraged the public to attend upcoming matches and school events.

The student representatives also reported extracurricular successes across Colonial schools including Latin exam awards, athletic championships, school events, Read Across America activities, fundraisers and a district collaboration event that drew over 700 parents and students to family-orientation activities.
