Cayce council meets in executive session to interview city manager candidates; no vote taken

A special meeting of the City of Cayce Council on June 17, 2025, opened at 9:30 a.m. in Council Chambers and moved into an executive session to discuss employment matters related to city manager position interviews. Mayor Elise Partin called the meeting and confirmed members of the press and public had been notified in accordance with the FOIA.
Mayor Pro Tem Tim James gave the invocation and Mayor Partin led the Pledge of Allegiance. The council then considered an executive session item described as "Discussion of Employment Matter - City Manager Position Interviews." Council Member Hunter Sox moved to go into executive session to discuss the item; Council Member Byron Thomas seconded the motion, and the motion was approved unanimously by roll call vote.
Following the executive session, Council Member Sox moved to reconvene the regular meeting; Council Member Thomas seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Mayor Elise Partin announced that no vote was taken in executive session other than to adjourn and resume the regular meeting.
Council Member Sox then moved to adjourn; Council Member Thomas seconded and the motion was approved by roll call. The meeting adjourned at 12:33 p.m. Municipal Clerk Mendy Corder attested to the minutes.
