The commission approved two waiver requests related to lot‑size requirements for properties outside Auburn’s city limits but inside the planning jurisdiction.
WZ2026‑005: An applicant sought to subdivide a two‑acre parcel into two roughly one‑acre lots. Lee County requested a 30‑foot right‑of‑way dedication that would reduce each lot slightly below one acre (to about 0.988 acres). The applicant, Cay Cabrall, asked the commission to permit the subdivision notwithstanding the small shortfall; commissioners approved the waiver.
WZ2026‑006: Johnston Hayes LLC requested a waiver to allow a proposed Lot 3 to be approximately 2.96 acres (slightly under the three‑acre minimum) after an easement the council accepted removed 30 feet of right‑of‑way from the parcel. The commission approved the waiver following the public hearing.
Both waivers were approved at the meeting; the staff presentations explained the acreage calculations and the right‑of‑way/easement effects that produced the shortfalls.
