"We're trying to make some wise decisions about AI but we need to get going on the road by the start of the school year," the superintendent said.
The superintendent also reported ongoing coordination with Vernon County and the formation of a similar safety group in Richland County to align safety practices across schools, law enforcement and emergency services. Separately, a digital-sign project is moving forward with coordination of digging/utility notices and an implementation timeline to be provided by staff.
In a closed session later in the meeting, the board convened under the cited personnel statute and then moved to approve the list of summer softball/baseball coaches, volunteer assistants and an assistant middle-school basketball coach. The motion passed; the transcript records one board member opposing that specific motion but does not attribute the negative vote to a named member in the public minutes.
