Officials say Hatche Bridge has been inspected and remains open; county continues to seek FDOT funding for a permanent fix

Staff said FDOT has inspected the bridge (most recently about a year ago), that the condition has been monitored and that although deficiencies exist they have not been deemed critical enough to close the bridge. “It has been inspected. It has not failed inspection,” staff said, adding that county engineers and public-works staff continue to document conditions and to seek funding and a more permanent solution from FDOT rather than relying on temporary patches.
The board agreed staff should request an updated inspection and provide the public a status update when the next FDOT inspection is scheduled.
