The Adams County Board on May 12 adopted two resolutions granting special-use permits to Pivot Energy affiliates to build small commercial solar facilities in Honey Creek Township and Gilmer Township.
Resolution 202605501018 grants a permit to Pivot Energy IL1140 LLC for a 1.6-megawatt commercial solar energy facility in Honey Creek Township; Resolution 202605501019 authorizes a 1.0-megawatt facility by Pivot Energy IL126 LLC in Gilmer Township. Transportation & Technology Committee chair Dave Bellis told the board the committee vetted the applications and recommended approval.
Both resolutions were moved and seconded, and each passed by roll call vote with 19 members voting in favor and two absent. The board recorded the votes individually for transparency; no opposing votes were recorded.
Board members indicated the committee had reviewed site materials and that any project concerns were resolved in committee. The approvals authorize the construction and operation of the specified solar facilities under the county's special-use permit process; project permits will be subject to any county and state permitting conditions and follow-up inspections.
The board also approved a separate road resurfacing resolution and other routine items during the meeting.
