Superintendent previews 'Hogalus Reimagined,' pilots kindergarten changes and advanced math track

On scheduling and budgets, staff said the district is preparing multiple budget simulations pending the state budget expected around May 29; once the state budget is finalized, HR and placement work will proceed and normal hiring processes (transfers, advertisements and interviews) will follow into the summer.
Chambers highlighted student and teacher recognition tied to district programs: he noted Read 180 student Zada Ramos moved from Level 1 to Level 4 this year and that teachers such as Ms. Bourne will be recognized as they retire. The superintendent credited principals and program staff who developed the plans since January.
Next steps: the proposal is slated for an unveiling at the May workshop; staff will provide implementation details and materials lists once the state budget and internal staffing placements are resolved.
