Board approves athletic training contract, SkillsUSA trip and joint food-service agreements

Miss Yan reported on an FFA leadership/service trip to Washington, D.C., with per-student registration of $975 and total per-student cost reported at $1,357.65 after flights; students have been fundraising heavily and received alumni contributions. The board approved a SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference trip to Atlanta (June 1–6) with a district expense cap of $2,400; approval followed a roll-call vote.
Food service: Nutrition director Miss Glorioso presented joint-service agreements to provide meal planning and preparation support to neighboring K–8 schools; the board approved agreements (including a separate motion for the Honor School District) and noted a modest average menu-rate increase (~3%) to reflect food and labor costs. Administration said costs are recouped through meal payments by the partnering schools.
Donations and recognitions earlier in the meeting included multiple community gifts (several thousand dollars combined) earmarked for SkillsUSA, FFA, Best Buddies and career-readiness programs; the board thanked donors and PTO volunteers.
