Boone County commissioners approved a package of highway and procurement items on May 18, including a BF&S task order amendment tied to rural broadband work, a Civil Con consultant agreement for replacement of a small structure (WO-011), and a finalized Toshiba contract for county IT.
Staff described the BF&S amendment as moving an existing task order from $33,000 to $43,000 for rural broadband installation and noted the increase is reimbursable. The board approved execution of the amendment by voice vote.
Jerry Larson of the County Highway Department requested approval of a consultant services agreement with Civil Con for replacement of small structure WO-011 on 700 East (about 0.1 mile north of County Road 200 South). The agreement was approved with a not-to-exceed amount of $14,400; the contract contains a clause allowing a $5,200 increase if permits require additional work, which must be approved by the County Highway Department before proceeding.
County IT presented the finalized Toshiba contract; commissioners approved that agreement and authorized signatures. Other routine highway items were also approved during the meeting, and staff noted several upcoming road closures and bridge work, including a ~130-day closure for replacement of bridge 162 and lane work on I-74 expected to last approximately two weeks.
