Low bidder withdraws on South Campus water‑heater; board to notify next bidder ahead of May award

"It is a complicated project ... the low bidder ... requested to withdraw. The next bid was Barry Plumbing in the amount of $254,332," an administrator said. Trustees did not object to issuing a notice of intent so the district can get the work scheduled, and staff said they will bring a formal recommendation at the May meeting for final action.
No final contract was awarded at the meeting; staff were authorized to proceed with a scheduling notice and to present a formal award recommendation at the May board meeting.
