Park County taps JUB Engineers for federally funded countywide transportation safety plan

Park County announced it will develop a countywide transportation and safety plan funded through the federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. Brian Edwards briefed the board on a qualifications-based selection process: seven firms submitted statements of qualifications, the selection committee shortlisted four, and three firms were interviewed. The committee recommended JUB Engineers — a firm with a local office and western-state transportation planning experience — as the top-ranked candidate.
Edwards said the project budget is roughly $360,000 and will not require local matching funds because the governor’s office provided the required match funds. Commissioners noted the plan will position the county for later implementation grants by identifying safety projects and preparing the technical documentation required by federal funders. One commissioner emphasized that all three finalists were strong performers; the committee’s scoring differences were small.
The board approved awarding the contract to JUB pending final price verification; during the meeting the county opened JUB’s price proposal and confirmed it did not exceed the proposed project budget. County staff will work with the county attorney and the Federal Highway Administration to finalize an agreement that meets federal SS4A conditions and administrative requirements.
