To improve operational efficiency, committee members discussed the possibility of reintroducing designated bus stops for older elementary students in locations with sidewalks or safer pedestrian access, rather than door-to-door pickup in all cases. Presenters stressed exceptions and an appeals process would be required for students living on unlined or unsafe roads.
The committee also recommended a future bus tour so board members and committee participants could observe routes and driver challenges (particularly in winter conditions) first-hand. No formal policy change was decided at the meeting; board members said they would consider the recommendations and follow up in subsequent committee work.
