"The budget before you tonight is the same as originally presented," a staff presenter said during the meeting.
Commissioners noted the commission continues to reduce the millage rate year‑over‑year as property values rise. "We are not raising taxes. We are lowering the rate," Mayor Clinton Baller said during deliberations. Staff clarified that some hires in the budget are effective July 1 and that human resources will return later with details on proposed raises.
The commission approved the budget by roll call; the motion carried unanimously. The action formalizes the appropriation that will take effect with the fiscal year that begins July 1, 2026.
