The Beloit School District board approved a new Medicaid billing software during its May 19 meeting after business-committee review and administration recommendation.
Administrators said a change in state law last fall expanded billable services and that the recommended vendor’s product integrates with the district’s Skyward student information system, which would reduce staff data entry time and improve billing accuracy. The business operations and finance committee urged approval after the administration forecasted that the system would produce at least enough additional revenue to cover the software cost and likely more.
Board members asked whether the contract is renewable and noted the importance of measuring realized savings; the administration said it would provide implementation updates and monitor billed revenue against projections.
The motion to approve the contract carried unanimously.
