The Beloit School District board voted May 19 to proceed with Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) to conduct the search for a new superintendent.
Board members interviewed multiple finalist firms in recent weeks and then reviewed a board poll of preferences. Board member Dan Shu moved to authorize HYA to conduct the search; the motion passed unanimously.
The board directed that reference checks and contract terms be finalized by the board president, vice president or designated staff and that the contract come back to the board for formal approval if required by district policy.
No candidate discussions took place in public; the action approved a vendor to manage the search process and public engagement to fill the superintendent vacancy.
