Juvenile Crime Prevention Council asks for same funding level and submits appointments

Miss Caleb, chair of the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) of Iredell County, told the Alleghany County Board that the JCPC's proposed budget for the coming year is unchanged at $69,774 and that the council is seeking a 28% county match. Caleb said the program has shown progress and that juvenile trouble has declined under current programming.
She asked the county to approve a new appointment, Jonathan Jordan (attorney), and to reappoint Lee Brickner (assistant district attorney) and Randy Murphy (parks and recreation director) to the JCPC board. Commissioners said they would take the appointments up next week.
Caleb described the Teen Court and other program elements as effective and said JCPC will continue to monitor outcomes.
