County reports transfer-facility repairs and will reissue auditorium HVAC RFP

County operations staff updated the board on facilities work and equipment repairs. David Basher, senior project and operations manager, reported that the courthouse chiller motor had been replaced and controls need reprogramming, one transfer-facility loader had injector work completed and the other remained down with a sensor issue. Lockline Construction began work repairing earthquake damage to the transfer-facility tipping floor and staff are using a temporary tipping floor and dumpsters during the three-day expected repair period.
"The chiller's been fixed... the controls are in need of being reprogrammed," Basher said, and described equipment repairs and the timeline for tipping-floor work. Basher also provided recycling and scrap-metal tonnage figures and animal-control activity summaries.
David Spicer, also a senior projects and operations manager, said the county received only one bid on the auditorium HVAC RFP and recommended reissuing the solicitation to attract more bidders. The board gave staff consensus to reissue the RFP rather than proceed on the single bid.
No contract awards were made at the meeting; commissioners asked staff to pursue additional bids and report back.
