City Attorney Christian Curtis made the required oral disclosure under Government Code section 54953 of the contract terms before the vote, stating an annual salary of $350,000 and additional benefits valued at $166,027. The council then adopted the resolution to appoint Hopkins and empowered the mayor and city attorney to carry out necessary steps to effectuate the appointment.
Council members offered public thanks to Acting City Manager Jared (Matt/Mack) Cano and city staff for their work during the transition and welcomed Hopkins. The appointment becomes effective under the terms of the adopted employment agreement.
