The Glendora Board of Library Trustees voted unanimously on May 18 to adopt an updated City Administrative Policy 4.01 that governs facility rentals at the library.
Senior management Ali Katal presented the revised draft and said the city last reviewed the policy in January 2019. Katal summarized the key changes: new sections on publicity and audiovisual equipment, clarified fees and cancellation policies, updated insurance requirements, and an overall reorganization of the document to improve readability. "We would recommend that the board of library trustees approve the rental policy as presented," Katal told trustees.
Trustee Long moved to approve the policy and Vice President Bogle seconded. President Erica Landman called the vote; the motion carried 5–0.
Katal told the board there is no fiscal impact associated with the recommendations in the report. Trustees asked no substantive questions during the presentation and accepted the staff recommendation.
Next steps outlined by staff included finalizing the policy language and publishing it alongside existing facility procedures; staff also noted they had consulted city risk management on insurance and liability items during the review.
The adoption closes a policy-review cycle that staff said had been pending for several years; trustees said they expect staff to post guidance for renters and to continue coordinating with city risk management if further clarifications are needed.
