The board approved plans for a carriage (guest) house, a pool and related site work at 400–406 Harrison Street after an extensive presentation by architect Lauren Dionish. Dionish said the carriage house will be single story and intentionally subservient to the main house, built on an existing stone foundation that will be examined and stabilized by a master stonemason. The proposed materials include brick that matches the main house, cast‑stone window surrounds and slate‑gray composition shingles.
Dionish explained the pool and pergola are set far back on the lot behind hedges so the pool will not be visible from the street. The applicant emphasized attention to historic scale and appropriate materials; staff confirmed the design meets the guidelines discussed by the board. A motion to approve the submission as presented carried on a voice vote.
