Resident urges tougher enforcement on loud car exhaust and unregulated e‑scooters in Wheeling parks and streets

He described seeing motorized four‑wheelers and small electric vehicles near North Side Park and Hawthorne School and said signage prohibiting such vehicles is present at park entrances but not consistently enforced.
Ignatius proposed that the village confiscate the scooters after warnings and issue fines to riders or parents, and that drivers with loud aftermarket exhausts be ticketed with escalating penalties until corrected. Board members did not engage in a detailed on‑the‑record exchange during public comment; the clerk said someone would reach out to the speaker after the meeting.
