Sumner names Cheryl Aldridge director of elementary special education; Shaylee Bagley hired as Crestwood assistant principal

Cheryl Aldridge will join the Sumner Bonney Lake School District central office as director of elementary special education, Superintendent Dent announced at the board’s May 19 meeting. Aldridge, who began her district career as a classroom teacher in 1997 and has served as an instructional coach, reading specialist, dean of students and assistant principal, thanked the board for the opportunity and introduced family members in the audience.
Jill Dornan, Crestwood Elementary principal, announced the hiring of Shaylee Bagley as Crestwood’s assistant principal for the coming school year. Dornan said Bagley was recruited from the Bethel School District, where she served as an administrative intern, classroom teacher and paraeducator, and that Bagley brings experience in early childhood education, special education, and curriculum and instruction.
Both introductions included brief remarks from the appointees and family members in attendance. The board offered congratulations; no formal vote on those personnel items was recorded during the public portion of the meeting. The hires were presented as part of the superintendent’s personnel reports and will be reflected in district personnel records.
