The Rancho Palos Verdes City Council adopted an updated master schedule of fees and a fully burdened hourly rate schedule for fiscal year 2026–27 after hearing staff recommendations to adjust fees largely to recover rising costs.
Senior Analyst James O'Neal told the council most fees were increased by the March 2026 CPI of roughly 3.4 percent, with limited exceptions (copy fees governed by state law, certain parking fees and some public‑works recalculations). Staff estimated the updates would generate about $121,000 in additional revenue, primarily to reduce subsidy of fee‑based services.
"This is about cost recovery more so than it is raising revenue," O'Neal said, describing recalculations for public‑works permit and inspection fees and a reformatting of the fee schedule for clarity. Councilmembers asked clarifying questions and then voted by roll call to adopt the schedule.
