Clear Creek ISD honors students, PTA council highlights 75 years of service and community programs

At the May 18 meeting, Clear Creek Independent School District trustees and district leaders spent substantial time recognizing students and PTA accomplishments across the district.
The board honored PTA Reflections winners including Addison Richtor (Ferguson Elementary), who described a photograph about belonging, and a number of students who advanced to state and national competitions. The board also recognized CTE and co‑curricular organizations — FCCLA, DECA, TSA and HOSA — for state and national achievements and highlighted student HUNCH projects developed with NASA engineers.
Lisa Plansky, president of the Clear Creek Community Council of PTAs, presented the council’s annual report. Plansky said the council represents 47 PTAs (43 in CCISD and 4 in Santa Fe ISD) with a combined membership of about 11,498, noted growth in membership, and described programs including trainings, scholarships (12 council scholarships of $500 each), a district book drive that collected roughly 5,700 books for the district’s Voyager Mobile Library and parent engagement events.
Trustees thanked volunteers and PTA leaders for their service. The district also acknowledged staff retirements and previewed upcoming graduation ceremonies.
The recognitions underscored district partnerships with community groups and higher‑education and industry partners such as NASA, and highlighted student pathways to college and careers.
