On second reading, the Petoskey City Council approved rezoning 224 Michigan Street from Office Service to B-2B (Mixed-Use Corridor) and amended the city's parking-exempt district to include the same property.
Councilmember Moore recused himself from discussion and said he would abstain because of a potential conflict of interest (his husband owns adjacent property and had been involved in planning commission comment). With the owner not present for the second reading, councilors reported no new issues and moved to adopt the ordinance. The rezoning ordinance and the parking-exempt district amendment each passed on roll call (votes recorded as 4 yes with one abstention due to conflict).
The ordinances will be reflected in the city's zoning appendix and parking regulations; staff will update records and notify the property owner.
