The facilities committee reviewed two proposed deductive change orders for MGF, the electrical prime on the accessibility and wellness project, that the administration said will permit final payment and contract closeout pending board approval.
The administration presented a $8,911 deduct for unused allowances in the original contract and a $50,850 credit to settle outstanding punch-list items after negotiations reduced an initial estimated punch-list value of about $217,400. "We started out in the contract with allowances of 315,250. So we did use all but the 89 that we're asking back," the administration said while explaining the unused-allowance credit and the punch-list settlement.
The administration said a large portion of the punch-list credit related to exterior speakers that were usable though not exactly to spec, and that other smaller items (conduit touch-up, drywall patching) would be handled internally rather than by the electrical contractor. If the board ratifies the credits at the upcoming business meeting, administration said MGF’s final pay application will be executed and that Stubner will remain the only open contract on the project with an approximate $31,000 balance owed.
