County OKs three right-of-way permits for fiber from Consolidated Companies

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners on a motion authorized the chair to sign three right-of-way permit applications from Consolidated Companies to install fiber optic lines at three locations in the county. The projects include a bore at Hershey Dickens Road and Swanson Road, a crossing along East Line Road near Brady, and fiber work connecting the Cedar Bluff subdivision across Brady Morfield.

Jason Schultz, Lincoln County highway superintendent, said the roads department had no objections to the permits and that the company had submitted a single combined check for permit fees. Schultz told the board that the projects are fiber and that pre-construction meetings will determine exact placement, and that county crews will work with installers to adjust locations if needed.

Commissioners asked about corridor constraints along Brady Morfield and Schultz said the contractor and county will perform pre-construction site meetings to select alignments ‘‘before they actually get to work on them.’’ The board noted the applications were three separate permits and that fees had been submitted.

The motion to authorize the chair to sign right-of-way applications 1, 2 and 3 carried after a roll-call confirmation by the board. The board did not record a separate detailed vote tally in the transcript.
