District 211 board approves multiple personnel actions including suspensions, terminations and an assistant-principal appointment

The Township High School District 211 Board of Education approved a slate of personnel actions during its meeting, including retirement acceptances, disciplinary measures, multiple terminations, and an administrative appointment.

On retirement, the board accepted retirement requests under the master contract for District 211 teachers and administrators with effective dates listed in motions as May and December 2030, as submitted by Helen Miller, director of insurance and group benefits.

The board then approved a three-day suspension for an employee identified in the motion as Kenneth Jurg, as presented by Assistant Superintendent Kurt Teniper and recommended by the superintendent.

Following that action, the board approved termination of employment for multiple employees named in the motions: Victor Sephuentes; Eugene Grohavski; John Peas; Brian Ramirez; and Amy Stilling Tanner. Each action was moved and approved by roll-call vote after administration introduced the items and board members asked procedural clarifying questions.

Finally, the board approved the appointment of Terresa Brandt as assistant principal at Shamberg High School, effective July 1, 2026, at the salary noted in the motion ($140,000 reported in the meeting motion). The appointment was submitted by Kurt Teniper and recommended by Dr. Judith Campbell.

What’s next: The actions will be implemented by Human Resources and Administrative Services; the board directed the secretary to notify affected employees in writing per policy.
