Mesquite ISD announces new principals and bilingual director at May 19 special meeting

Dr. Rivera said Poe has more than a decade of experience and most recently served as assistant principal at West Mesquite High School; she previously worked as an elementary assistant principal in Irving and as a Title I academic specialist and reading interventionist.
Hale Lima King was announced as principal of Cannaday Elementary; Dr. Rivera said King has more than 27 years of experience and most recently led a campus in Bridgeport ISD. Brenda Soberanis was named principal of Range Elementary after 19 years at that campus, moving from assistant principal to principal and succeeding Kelly Locke.
Jose Peterson Torres was appointed principal of Woolley Middle School; Dr. Rivera described him as a bilingual educator and campus leader with more than 18 years of experience and prior leadership roles at Lawrence Elementary and Woolley Middle. Brett Peterson was named principal of West Mesquite High School; Dr. Rivera said Peterson is transitioning from middle-school leadership and has more than 17 years in education, with prior assistant principal and teaching roles in Mesquite ISD and other districts.
The district also announced assistant principal appointments, including Chasselyn Reynolds (Moss Elementary), Alanise Estate (Rugel Elementary) and Eliia Lette Contas (Seabourn Elementary). Dr. Rivera noted the transcript contains minor spelling inconsistencies for some campus names.
