The Mountain View‑Los Altos Union High School District Board of Trustees approved several formal items during its May 18 meeting, including a resolution recognizing June as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month and multiple governance actions on district policies.
Trustee Catherine moved the Pride Month resolution, Trustee Alex seconded, and the board approved it by unanimous voice vote (5-0). The resolution covered the 2026 period and the board recorded the motion and the unanimous vote during open session.
Later in the meeting trustees approved the consolidated agenda of routine items (11.1–11.25, excluding a pulled item) by voice vote, again 5-0. The consent bundle included routine contracts, purchases and personnel items identified in the meeting packet.
On a separate item the board held a second reading of Administrative Regulation 1340, "Access to District Records." The presenter reported that district legal counsel advised against inserting newly proposed language because it would be "overly burdensome" and could increase legal risk. Trustee Catherine moved adoption; Trustee Esme seconded. The regulation was adopted with four votes in favor and one abstention (Trustee Vadim). The board record shows Claire and Lucy also cast approving votes.
The board also moved to delete a list of obsolete policies and related regulations (Title I Program Improvement items, several duties-of-personnel entries, gifts to school personnel and related R-series regulations). A trustee moved the deletions and the board approved the action 5-0.
