Commissioners approve reimbursement for Plymouth Fire Department equipment purchases

Fire Chief Steve Holland told the board the department previously purchased mobile radios and now seeks reimbursement for a package of items: a combustible‑gas detector similar to NIPSCO detectors, a thermal‑imaging camera, rope‑rescue pulleys and clutches, gated hydrant valves to assist in suppression operations, additional fire hose, rapid intervention 'rip' bags for firefighter rescue and heavy‑duty airbags used for extrication. He said the requested reimbursement matches the amounts presented to the board.
A commissioner noted the county council also contributed funds and asked that the council receive credit; Chief Holland acknowledged the joint funding. A motion to approve the reimbursement as requested passed by voice vote.
The department said it continues feasibility discussions for a possible new firehouse but offered no site or funding decision at this meeting.
