Misty Wimpy, who has served the city for 21 years and was the chief clerk since 2017, was presented to the council as the unanimous choice and sole finalist. Staff said she holds certifications including Certified Court Administrator from the Georgia Municipal Court Clerks Council and a certificate of court administration from the Georgia Council of Court Administrators.
Council moved and seconded the appointment and voted to approve it. Staff also noted that the city advertised the sole-finalist name for the 14-day period required by state law before finalizing the appointment.
