Staff proposed adjusting the committee’s membership from five to six members, and commissioners approved an amendment to make that transition by appointment.
Commissioners then considered Resolution 106 to appoint Becky Jackson, introduced in the meeting as the manager of community health at Nebraska Medicine. Jackson spoke briefly about her local ties to Sarpy County, experience in grant management and community programming, and regional travel experience supporting youth sports — credentials Garber said would benefit the committee. The commission approved the appointment for a term beginning May 1, 2026 and ending April 30, 2030.
The board praised Jackson for volunteering and expressed anticipation of the committee’s future work supporting tourism development.
