Key dates the council was given: a June 26 budget workshop in the council chambers (8 a.m.–noon), a July 13 budget update to council, receipt of certified appraisal district values on or before July 25, filing of the proposed budget with the city clerk by July 31, an Aug. 17 council presentation and roll call to call a public hearing on the tax rate and budget, publication of hearing notices on Sept. 1, and a Sept. 8 public hearing and final adoption of the budget and tax rate.
Staff said no action was required at this meeting and invited council questions about the timeline. Council thanked staff for the presentation.
The schedule sets the legal and public‑notice milestones the city must follow; staff said they will post the proposed budget on the city website and provide weekly updates during the review period.
