Residents press council on potholes and truck routing; officials point to county authority

Keith Schmidt (203 Westwood Lane) renewed a complaint about Green Road, saying sections between Laneir Drive and Craigmont Street and between Craigmont and Michigan Road are badly deteriorated and that sunken drains and potholes are damaging vehicles. Councilors responded that one pothole had recently been repaired and said Craigmont Street is on the next paving list.
Elliot Weaver, who identified himself as a member of Boy Scout Troop 717 working on a citizenship-in-community badge, described large trucks attempting turns near Shan Pike and West 500 North and getting stuck in roadside ditches. Councilors told Weaver that the road appears to fall under Jefferson County jurisdiction and advised him to bring the concern to the Jefferson County Council or Board of Commissioners; council staff provided the county meeting schedule and location.
Neither issue resulted in a council motion; members provided guidance on next steps and jurisdictional contacts.
