Grace Outreach cleared to host alternating Sunday community meals downtown

Tonya Profit, who identified herself as representing Grace Outreach, told the board the group received a grant to fund the meals and plans to offer hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and water, and to provide prayer or a Bible to anyone who requests one. “We like sent in a grant for Reed and they accepted it and gave us some money,” Profit said, describing a schedule of alternating Sundays from May 24 through Aug. 16 and a 2–4 p.m. time window.
Board members moved to approve the request and the motion carried without further conditions. Profit said the group hoped to set up “right here by the statue” and confirmed the dates and times to board members before the vote.
