At its May 5 meeting the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners voted to go into executive session for strategy sessions regarding real estate transactions and potential litigation and to receive legal advice.
Chair Christa Yokum moved the board into executive session at 9:30 a.m., citing the need to discuss "real estate transactions, potential litigation, which is evidenced by communication of a claim or threat of litigation to or by the public body, and to receive legal advice and to protect the public interest." The motion passed on a unanimous roll call. The board recessed into executive session and later reconvened to continue the public agenda.
What happens next: Executive sessions are confidential; any public disclosure of actions or directives will be made as permitted under the Nebraska Open Meetings Act and if the board votes to release information.
