Several trustees and residents pushed to postpone the award for two weeks so trustees could inspect plan sets, obtain photos and confirm quantities. Trustee Miller and others argued that if streets are being opened for the work, the village should not delay; Trustee Miller said she would allow two weeks so a trustee could gather additional evidence.
The motion to postpone to the next meeting failed. The board then moved to award the contract to Payne & Dolan in the amount cited in the packet (referenced by staff as approximately $1.215 million) plus a 10% contingency. The motion carried by roll call.
Trustees and staff said the work follows established evaluation procedures (PASER method and engineering inspection) and that plans and bid documents are available at the engineering counter for review.
