CAYCE — Following a closed executive session on Oct. 7, 2025, the Cayce City Council voted unanimously to authorize the city manager to finalize and execute a settlement in the zoning appeal litigation for the property at 1028 Michael Avenue.
The matter was the subject of lengthy public comment earlier in the meeting; resident Danny Kramer described the structure at 1028 Michael Avenue as a longstanding problem for neighboring residents and urged the council to resolve the litigation and, if possible, acquire the property.
After returning from executive session, council moved to "authorize the city manager to finalize negotiations and execute settlement agreement as discussed in executive session." The motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
What’s next: The city manager will finalize settlement terms and execute the agreement as authorized. Council took no additional public-record actions beyond authorizing the manager to complete the settlement.
