The board invited Pastor Jeffrey Munches of Calvary Christian Center to deliver the invocation. James Vvenzio, a veteran who served in the Georgia Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve, led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The commission presented a certificate of distinguished service to Chelsea Brazil of Glynn County Emergency Management and Homeland Security for her liaison work coordinating communication and interagency support during the Brantley County wildfire response. Chair Neil praised her professionalism and regional partnership work.
Commissioners also recognized National Public Works Week and thanked the county public works staff for infrastructure maintenance and emergency response; Sean, identified in the meeting as public works director, was acknowledged by the chair for department efforts.
The recognitions provided ceremonial context before the board moved into regular business and public hearings.
