Lauer said staff is close to finishing A Road work, has contracted tree removals near residential corners and plans to grade and mark the horse trail alongside fence lines rather than shift existing roadways. He explained that some historical easements are not dedicated to the town, which prevents town crews from performing certain maintenance unless property owners dedicate easements or install pipe/culvert work themselves.
On drainage and structure work, staff plans to replace three culverts and to extend existing pipes where feasible to avoid full roadway reconstruction. Lauer described one collapsing culvert observed while working on C Road and said replacing pipe gives the town opportunities to avoid emergency rebuilds.
Members raised enforcement and access concerns: some homeowners were not informed of limited legal access when purchasing properties, and recent social‑media posts alleged machinery or debris blocking easements; members requested staff follow up with code enforcement or site visits. The committee made no funding commitments and will return to the item as projects proceed and permits or easements are secured.
