Atoka City Council approves dispatch and jail renewals, Haskell Street overlay and grant application

At a combined morning session, the Atoka City Council approved several routine items including renewal of the Atoka dispatch and Atoka jail contracts and authorized the mayor and the chief of police to sign all related documents.
The council approved a Miller Asphalt quote for $38,658 to perform an overlay on Haskell Street and agreed to authorize staff to apply for the "80/20 4 Street" grant on behalf of the fire department. None of the consent items were pulled for individual consideration.
Council members publicly recognized Erica for roughly eight years of service; members offered personal remarks thanking her for her leadership and time on the council. Erica briefly responded and thanked colleagues for the opportunity to serve.
During discussion of the dispatch and jail contract renewals, the chief of police told the council the contracts would continue on the same terms as the prior year, though he noted some associated provider costs had risen. Council members voted by roll call and each measure passed by unanimous vote.
