Hot Springs council approves Wine Walk alcohol permit, golf-cart rental agreement and advances two ordinances

The Hot Springs City Council approved a series of routine and event-related items at its meeting, including a special-event alcohol license for the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce Wine Walk, authorization for a golf-cart rental agreement, personnel actions and two cemetery board appointments.
During a public hearing, Cameron of the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce told council the Chamber will follow applicable regulations and ordinances for the Wine Walk and Play event scheduled for May 22, 2026. Council closed the hearing and approved the special-sale alcoholic beverage license by motion.
The council also approved an amended agenda earlier in the meeting adding a National Poppy Day proclamation and a new-business item (item H) authorizing the mayor to sign a golf-cart event rental agreement and liability waiver with the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce. That golf-cart rental agreement was approved by motion and the mayor was authorized to sign.
Council approved personnel actions A through K and authorized appointments to the cemetery board, appointing Carla La Ree to fill a 2022–2026 vacancy and reappointing Joyce Barrel for a 2026–2030 term.
On ordinance business, the council approved the second reading of Ordinance 1288 (revising Title 3, Chapter 30 — public works engineer). It also approved the second reading of Ordinance 1287, a zoning code amendment for PUD #3 Cascade Hill subdivision; Council noted an abstention by Mr. Telkamp because he serves on a related board. Roll-call votes were recorded for the readings.
The meeting also scheduled a full-audit readout on June 15 and received multiple committee reports that will return as needed for further council action.
